Paulette Woolhead from Lakefield (Ontario, Canada), one of the few Native Women carvers, is returning to her Ojibway heritage through her art.

Paulette uses her inherent talent and the legends of her people to create these beautiful soapstone carvings, which have become highly collectable throughout the world. All her work is signed "Migizi Tia," her Ojibway name meaning "Eagle Wing."

Paulette was born in 1949, grew up in Toronto and worked in the corporate business world until 1987. Wanting to raise her children in a rural environment and to return to traditional Native teachings, she moved to Lakefield, Ontario and started creating her art work.

Paulette's work is shown at the Four Winds Gallery in the Kawarthas. To see Paulette's online showing of sculptures, please browse our pages. Prices are shown in Canadian funds plus shipping over $50. For more information on Paulette or her artwork, please Email us at woolhead@oncomdis.on.ca.
